The team up of Lykke Li and David Lynch seems like it was almost inevitable given their particular musical styles and, as you might expect, this debut track from Lynch’s forthcoming album, The Big Dream, is haunting, dreaming and melodic. True, the end of the track/video features a creepy moment or two, but hey, it’s David Lynch, if it wasn’t at least a little disturbing we’d suspect something was wrong with the mysterious maestro.
Lynch recently said of the new album, “Most of the songs start out as a type of blues jam and then we go sideways from there, what comes out is a hybrid, modernized form of low-down blues.”
Given his previous soundtrack work, not to mention his smokey and sexy collaboration with Chrysta Bell last year, we are more than ready to check this one out!
The Big Dream is schedule for release on July 16th.
*Editors Note: We shouldn’t really be covering this at all given our past experiences with Lynch’s hideously pretentious PR staff but, what can we say? We’ll always be fans of the man, his minions on the other hand are a whole other story.
