Bob Dylan’s 35th studio album Tempest is due for release on 9/11/2012 and “Duquesne Whistle” is the first single from the album, (is there really such a thing as a “single” anymore?).
Dylan’s music videos have always trended a little towards the strange and this new one is no exception. Sure it starts out sweet enough but…..suffice it to say, this one doesn’t really go where you’re expecting it to, but then that’s just like Bob, isn’t it? Always unpredictable and a little offbeat. Personally I love the fact the man is still around to entertain and surprise us, there’s never been anyone quite like Bob and there never will be again, the man is definitely one of a kind and, though many have been compared to the legendary songwriter, in my useless opinion he is peerless.
Duquesne Whistle was directed by Nash Edgerton, brother of actor Joel Edgerton, best known for his starring role in last year’s Pop Bitez fav Warrior and currently on the big screen in The Odd Life of Timothy Green, look for Joel’s cameo as “the man with the bat”.
Enjoy!
